Board of Directors November Meeting

Meetings of Seward Co-op’s Board of Directors are open to any co-op owner. This board meeting is virtual and will be held Tuesday, November 26. To indicate your intention to attend, please email board@seward.coop prior to November 26. This will allow us to provide you the virtual meeting link. Captions are available upon request, and if you have a need for other accommodations, please include them in your email and we will do our best to meet them.

Seward Co-op’s Board of Directors is comprised of nine elected co-op owners who serve the co-op for three-year terms. The board typically meets 9-10 times a year on the last Tuesday of the month, at 6:15 p.m. The co-op’s board of directors appreciates hearing from you! They are available to answer questions and provide information about cooperative governance.

Indigenous Foods Class Series – Wild Berries & Hazelnuts (Virtual class)

Join Hope Flanagan and Derek Nicholas to make a wild berry and hazelnut fall treat in this virtual class. Berries and nuts both hold significance throughout the tribes on Turtle Island. Accompany us as we share a fun recipe and talk culture.

CANCELLED- DIY Soap Making Date Night!

Due to instructor illness, this class has been cancelled.

Sign up solo, with a partner, or with a friend for a fun and casual soap making workshop this Valentine’s Day! Join Longfellow Soap owner John Hanson for an in-person class at the Friendship store to learn how to make your own soap. Sparkling juice and chocolate will be provided! Students will also receive a free silicone mold and class manual at the class.

In-person class at our Friendship location. Please RSVP in advance. Registration closes the day before class.

$40/$35 for Seward Co-op owners

What to expect: The Friendship store is located at 317 E. 38th St. Minneapolis, MN. The classroom is in the northeast corner of the store, past the general seating area. It is mobility-device accessible.

Cooking with Koshiki: Homemade Gyoza

December 5, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

We will learn how to stuff and shape these pork & napa cabbage stuffed savory dumplings, then cook them two ways: pan-fry them for a crispy perfection and boil them for steaming silky texture. We will also make homemade ponzu sauce, Japanese sour and savory citrus dipping sauce.

Seward Co-op 50th Anniversary Block Party at Open Streets

Save the date and join us for a block party celebrating 50 years of Seward Co-op! We’re partnering with Open Streets Franklin Ave to bring music, food, and fun to Franklin Avenue between 25th and 26th Ave.

•$5 Community Meal featuring Seward Co-op-made meat and veg options

•Community Foods Fair- meet and sample treats from local producers

•Live music by Malamanya and Kashimana; plus DJs from Phillips-based local radio station KRSM

•Family friendly activities with our community partners and SEED recipients
