Steak Bruschetta


1 lb flat iron steak

2 tablespoon olive oil

Salt & pepper

1 baguette, sliced

6 shallots sliced

5 tablespoon butter

1 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup fig jam

1 teaspoon fresh thyme


Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper on both sides and add to pan when hot. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side.

When done, place on a plate and let sit for 10 minutes. Cut into slice once cooled down.

In a separate pan, add butter on medium heat. Place shallots in pan with a pinch of salt and stire until coated, brown and caramelized. Once caramelized, remove from heat and place in a small bowl.

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, fig jam, thyme, salt and pepper until well combine, then set to the side.

Toast baguette slices in a small skillet with 2 tablespoon of butter until golden brown on each side. Spread mayo sauce on baguette slices and top with steak and shallots.
