Franklin Remodel Celebration

Join us as we unveil the completed remodel of our Franklin Ave store! From 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. you can explore the store and try samples from a variety of our Community Foods vendors. Enter raffles to win awesome Seward freebies, and enjoy live music by Corazón En La Mano in our dining area. Bring the whole family for “Microgreens” fun in the new, store-level classroom – we’ll be painting festive veggies from our produce department, tasting new foods, and more.

Corazon En La Mano
Since 2001, Stefanie Levi (vocals, doumbek) and James Allen (guitar) have been playing together as CORAZON EN LA MANO. Their repertoire includes melodic, inspirational songs from folk, resistance, and singer/songwriter traditions, including Australian, British Isles, Cuban, Greek, Italian, Jewish, North American and Palestinian.

DIY Soap Making for Holiday Gifts

Make your own customizable soap as holiday gifts! Join Longfellow Soap owner John Hanson for an in-person class at the Friendship store to learn soap making techniques. Students will receive a free silicone mold and class manual at the class.

This is an in-person class at our Friendship location. Please RSVP in advance. Registration closes the day before class.

This recipe for bison wild rice meatballs is gluten free, dairy free, lean and protein dense. They are wonderfully savory and are very versatile. In this virtual class, Vanessa will be pairing them with a maple berry sauce that is aromatic, bright, and balances well with the savory meatballs.

Many people utilize elderberry syrup as a safe, effective, and delicious natural remedy for fighting viruses and boosting the immune system, but did you know that you can also incorporate this tasty healing syrup into various recipes? Join sisters Francesca Garcia and Jessica Ferlaak, as they demonstrate their favorite elderberry syrup recipe. They will also show you how to make fire cider, a potent immune supporter. Learn tasty and creative ways to incorporate food as medicine into your life this cold and flu season!

Attendees should plan to bring two pint-sized jars or containers to take home samples of elderberry syrup and fire cider.

Seward Co-op 101 with the Board of Directors + Italian Sausage Chili

Seward staff member Addie (she/they) will show you how to make Italian Sausage chili featuring our house-made Italian sausage, while members of our Board give you the scoop on Seward Co-op. Learn about the history and evolution of co-ops, how Seward came to be and where we’re headed, what it means to be a co-op owner, and how YOU play an important role in helping Seward live its vision to sustain a healthy community.
