Cooking with Koshiki: New Year, New Skill- Sushi Making (Virtual class)

Join us to learn sushi-making basics. In this class, we will be using ingredients from Seward Co-op to make healthy and sustainable sushi. Basic sushi includes inside-out rolls, traditional rolls, and Nigiri/Mari Sushi. Vegetarian options will be shown as well.

Board of Directors August Meeting

August 25, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Meetings of Seward Co-op’s Board of Directors are open to any co-op owner. The board typically meets 9-10 times a year on the last Tuesday of the month, at 6:15 p.m. The next board meeting is virtual and will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25. The meeting will include a 10-minute Co-op Owners Comment Period. Individual time allotment is dependent on number of owners who wish to speak. The agenda is available here; your advance RSVP is politely requested. To indicate your intention to attend and/or participate in the Co-op Owners Comment Period, please email board@seward.coop prior to Aug. 25. This will allow us to provide you the virtual meeting link.

They are available to answer questions and provide information about cooperative governance.

Intro to Soap Making

Learn soap making from one of Seward Co-op’s most popular soap vendors! In this demonstration class, students will be shown soap making using the cold process method. Each student receives an instruction manual and takes home five bars of soap ($25 retail).

Nourish 101: Spaghetti Squash Pizza Crust

Woodstock Frozen Mushrooms Recall

Woodstock has issued a voluntary recall on frozen mixed mushrooms (10 oz.) due to reports of findings of a sponge-like material in two different lot codes.

No affected product is currently available at Seward Co-op stores, but it may have been sold between Jan. 1 and April 5, 2019. If you have any of the product with the specific lot codes affected, please dispose of it. Woodstock does not believe any other lot codes are affected. Woodstock does not consider this to be a health hazard or food safety risk, but is pulling the product due to quality and to ensure the consumers get the best quality product.

Natural Sea Recall

On June 14, Natural Sea announced a voluntary recall of its fish fillets with whole wheat breading due to the potential presence of undeclared milk. This recalled product has been removed from the shelf at both of our stores. Between March 16 and June 14, 2017 Seward Co-op may have sold product affected by the recall.
