Local Farm Tour Highlighted in Strib

The Star Tribune recently ran a write up on the Eat Local Farm Tour, co-sponsored by the Twin Cities natural food co-ops. Seward Co-op Named Top 100 Workplace

Seward Co-op has been named one of the Top 100 Workplaces in Minnesota based on an employee-based survey project from the Star Tribune. The Star Tribune Top Workplaces special section was published in the Star Tribune on Sunday, June 19, 2011.

Get Organic + Local at the Co-op

CBS Minnesota recognized Seward Co-op as one of the top five places in the Twin Cities metro to find organic and locally sourced foods. This fall, the co-op introduced P6, which helps customers identify not only local products, but those sourced by small producers and cooperatives/nonprofits, as well.

Seward Co-op Teams with Dero on New Bike Program

This spring, Seward Co-op is partnering with local business Dero Bike Rack Company to promote healthy travel to and from the co-op for member-owners. We’re calling it “ZAP,” and it’s a great way to see how biking to the co-op reduces your impact on the environment.

Sprout! Wins Award

Seward Co-op’s member newsletter, the Sprout!, is a Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA) 2010 Communications Contest award recipient. The Sprout! took second place in the “member newsletter” category during CCA’s recent awards ceremony, held in downtown Minneapolis. CCA is a Pennsylvania-based organization of professionals who communicate for cooperatives.

Solar Panels Installed at Co-op

In partnership with Minneapolis-based Solarflow Energy, a 140-panel solar system was installed this spring on the co-op’s roof. This is Solarflow’s ninth Twin Cities area project; and is expected to generate 32 kilowatts of renewable energy for 18 years.
