Intro to Ayurveda + Ayurveda Cooking for Digestive Health

September 29, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Curious about Ayurveda but don’t know where to start? Gain a deeper understanding of the practice of Ayurveda from Ayurvedic medicine practitioner Vanashree Belgamwar. This two-part class will introduce the concepts of this ancient healing science and show you how you can start incorporating it into your life and diet for improving your digestive health.

Ayurveda literally means “knowledge of life” and its scope is truly no less encompassing. It’s a system of healing that examines physical constitution, emotional nature, and spiritual outlook. While the tradition is thought to be over five thousand years old, Ayurveda remains as relevant as ever.

Part one of this class will focus on the foundations of Ayurveda including identifying and understanding your constitution or “dosha”. Participants will also enjoy an Ayurvedic soup during class prepared by staff.

Part two will be a hands on cooking class focusing on principles of Ayurvedic cooking and simple recipes for any constitution to nourish your digestive fire or “agni”.

Class menu will include:

• Carrot, Sweet Potato and Pumpkin Soup

• Spinach mint rice with carrot and radish salad.
