Buttermilk Falls CSA is a 60-member CSA farm nestled among the forests and prairie lands of the St. Croix River Valley. Named after our pristine waterfall, Buttermilk Falls CSA offers members organic produce tended with integrity. Our non-profit, Philadelphia Community Farm, was one of the first CSA’s in the Midwest. Our farmers, interns and apprentices are honored to carry on the tradition of biodynamic farming practices, living in community, and stewarding this sacred land for essential nature-centered educational programs and retreats.
To ensure the best possible practices we have created a safety protocol for food handling during the pandemic and remain vigilant in our adherence to it. This includes: Wearing masks during washing and packing of produce and washing of hands before, during and after all handling of products. Delivery drivers adhere to the same precautions including sanitizing their hands before and after each drop off. We will be sure that clear and detailed social distancing guidelines for pickup sites will be distributed in early May to our shareholders, and supplies to minimize cross contamination will be stored at each site. Detailed information about our Covid-19 protocol is available on our website.
New in 2021- Mutual Aid option: This initiative allows you to purchase a share or donate to scholarships providing subsidized and free produce for households that desire and would otherwise be unable to afford a CSA share. When you make a donation on our website you have the added option to designate a specific site equipped to accept fresh produce on Saturdays, our 2021 delivery day.
