The City of Minneapolis announced a curfew effective at 8 p.m. tonight. Both the Franklin and Friendship stores will close at 6 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Aug. 27 so that our staff can return to their homes safely. We plan to reopen both the Franklin and Friendship stores at our regular hour (9 a.m.) tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 28. If the curfew remains, we will close early again on Friday. Employees will be paid for any missed hours. We will monitor the situation and update our hours of operation on social media and our website.
Seward Co-op management and our board of directors are grateful for all the efforts of staff, particularly throughout the last months as essential grocery employees. We must ensure that our staff are safe. We know the Seward Co-op community is deeply saddened and may be worried. Thank you for your support, compassion and understanding. Take care.
