Come explore local businesses, sample food and enjoy live music during Open Streets Franklin on Sunday, August 25, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Seward Community Co-op will be celebrating good food and community at Seward Co-op Creamery Café. Join us!
We’ll be offering a $5 special on BBQ chicken sandwiches and jackfruit sandwiches in the street, and featuring beer from Fair State Co-op on our patio. Other Seward Co-op Community Foods vendors will be there as well: visit Sonny’s Ice Cream and Feral Kombucha at their nearby food stands and sample products from West Indies Soul Food and Atlas Provisions under the Seward Co-op tent.
We’ll have live music throughout the afternoon —Van Nixon (acoustic reggae) will play from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and Mayyadda (R&B singer-songwriter) will play from 2-4:30 p.m. Springboard for the Arts will also join us with an artist pop-up sale.
Stop by to chat with the co-op's board of directors and learn about the upcoming co-op election. Seward Co-op staff will also be available with information about composting and recycling at the co-op. Kids can enjoy fun activities with Midwest Food Connection!
Seward Community Co-op is one of the sponsors of Open Streets Franklin. Franklin Avenue will be blocked off from Portland Avenue to 28th Avenue South, opening up the roadway for people walking, biking, rolling and playing.
