Celebrating Women’s History Month with Wellness
Fat and the Moon
Fat and the Moon is a women-owned, herbalist-led personal care company crafting plant-based, small-batch products out of Nevada City, Calif. The business started as simple kitchen-table creations inspired by folk healing and a desire to reconnect people with the natural world. Today, Fat and the Moon continues to handmake every balm, salve, and potion. Their products reflect a deep commitment to sustainability, community values, and nourishing personal care.
Sola’s Butters
Abisola J-Peterson founded Sola’s Butters in 2016 to offer a natural, soothing remedy for dry skin and eczema. Abisola developed her formulas by looking back on her childhood in Nigeria, where her mother used indigenous ingredients like raw shea butter for skincare. Her work is guided by strong relationships, community impact, and transparency in sourcing and production.
Wild Carrot Herbals
For over two decades, Wild Carrot Herbals has been handcrafting plant-based skincare from a small town in the mountains of northeast Oregon. Founded by Jody Berry, whose background in organic farming and passion for medicinal herbs shaped the company’s beginnings, Wild Carrot Herbals is named for the wild carrot plant, or Queen Anne’s Lace, representing abundance, nourishment, and natural beauty. They hold fast to their belief that a thriving community is one that grows together, rooted in appreciation for the natural world and the bonds we create with one another.
Inesscents
Inesscents began in 2000 when founder Amber Ashley started practicing and refining the processes of making small-batch, intentionally crafted topical skincare products. Inspired by the aromatic oils and indigenous plant knowledge she encountered during travels to North Africa and Southeast Asia, Amber built the company around integrity-based sourcing, product effectiveness, and connecting people with the gifts of plants. Inesscents remains committed to natural, organic products and resilient supply chain systems based on thoughtful sourcing.
