CSA Type: Vegetables
Drop Locations: Midtown Farmer’s Market and more
In 2006, Mike Noreen started Burning River Farm after working several seasons at Foxtail Farm in Osceola, WI. Paul and Chris, the Foxtail farmers, helped launch Burning River Farm through the use of land and equipment.
Burning River Farm grows nutritious, clean vegetables for their customers. Going above and beyond USDA organic—they not only are chemical-free, but use an extensive rotation based on cover crops, without the use of plastic mulch (a mainstay in much organic growing) and go to lengths to reduce inputs and waste.
Burning River Farm believes in participating in a food system that puts people, our health, and nature first. Each season, Mike and the farm crew work towards using increasingly better methods to grow food for you.
“A Farmers Market CSA Share is similar…but not. Our Farmers Market Members still pay ahead for the season, but instead of receiving a delivery of vegetables, they use the balance of an “account” to purchase the vegetables of their choice at one of our market stands. As a Farmers Market Member, you purchase your vegetables when you want and choose what you want. It’s a flexible, full choice option for getting your vegetables throughout the season and beyond.”
