About Baba’s

Baba means father. Sibling duo Rana and Khalid’s baba, Jamal, came to America from Jerusalem with empty pockets and a dream to share his heritage with his newfound community. After serving his hummus for nearly 40 years, Rana and Khalid wanted the world to taste their Baba’s hummus. Jamal’s hard work inspired them to create Baba’s – a modern, Middle Eastern brand to share the beauty and richness of their food and culture with the community. Today, Baba’s products include a variety of hummus flavors, g’noosh, falafel, and pita bread.

Still grinding 42 years later in the same business he built in 1979, where he created their creamy, authentic hummus, Jamal is a true testament to hard work and passion. Baba’s is not only a food brand. It’s a taste of the Palestinian-American experience. Baba’s is a true mix of their family’s Palestinian-American identity through food and culture. Their traditional hummus embodies authentic, original creamy hummus from Jerusalem, while their spin-off flavors represent Rana and Khalid’s playful, rebellious, and ‘melting-pot’ American side.
