Garden of Life LLC is voluntarily withdrawing a Garden of Life RAW MEAL protein powders because they have the potential to contain Salmonella Virchow. Between Sept. 1, 2015, and Jan. 30,2016, Seward Co-op may have sold products with lot numbers affected by this recall at both the Franklin and Friendship stores. See list below.

If you purchased any of the above products at Seward Co-op between Sept. 1, 2015 and Jan. 30, 2016, please return them to either the Franklin or Friendship store customer service desk for a full refund. Various products were offered at a sale price in the time frame that the recall is covering. If you bought the product at a sale price, the Customer Service desk will be able to identify the sale price for the refund. Tai Ethnic Gourmet (TEG) has issued a voluntary and pre-emptive recall on three products that have been carried at Seward Co-op. TEG is recalling these items due to the possible presence of peanuts. People who have an allergy to peanuts run the risk of a serious allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Affected TEG product has been removed from Seward Co-op shelves, however, it is possible that we’ve sold some of the affected lot codes in the past.

If you have purchased the following TEG brand products (with lot codes and “best by” dates found on the packaging) you may return them to Seward Co-op for a full refund.

• Bombay Curry 16 oz (UPC barcode: 718687-30010) w/ best by date 15OCT16
• Calcutta Masala 16 oz (UPC barcode: 718687-30011) w/ best by date 15OCT16

During a temperature check of one of our coolers on Friday, November 21, the Seward Grocery team found product at unsafe temperatures due to a non-functioning cooler fan. If you purchased any of the products below between 12:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20th and 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 21st, do not consume this product and return it to Seward Customer Service for a full refund. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.

Riba Foods has issued a voluntary recall on certain Salpica salsa and cheese dip products carried at Seward Co-op. Riba is recalling these items due to an undeclared wheat allergen. People who have an allergy to wheat run the risk of allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Salpica product on Seward Co-op shelves are not affected by the recall. However, it is possible that we sold some of the affected lot codes in the past.

If you have purchased the following Salpica brand products (with lot codes found on the packaging) you may return them to Seward Co-op for a full refund.

* Salpica Salsa con Queso dip 16 oz – 604183-32030 with best by dates of 10sep15 through 21feb16

A voluntary recall of Essentia Electrolyte Water (1.5 liter) has been issued due to possible mold or yeast problems. No illness has been reported to date; the yeast/mold was discovered during routine sampling. This product was sold at Seward Co-op with a price of $2.69 and a UPC 0657227 00050.

Only product dated between July 22 and July 25th has been recalled. If in doubt, do not consume the product. Recalled products will be fully refunded at our Customer Service desk.
