Learn about Thimmesch Farm
For the past 16 years, Jason Thimmesch and his family have been working and building Thimmesch Farm in the Driftless region of Wisconsin. Over that time, Jason and his wife Jannelle saw their kids grow up on the farm, with their youngest still at home and helping out with her friends. Throughout the years, the Thimmesch family honed their specialty to growing Brussels sprouts and garlic, and for the past decade, Seward Co-op has been selling their delicious bulk Brussels sprouts.
“I like the ‘culture’ of ‘agriculture,’” Jason says. Neighbors within ten miles of the farm regularly come by to help out, and farm work is done very communally. All share a common ground of appreciating the land and working to grow food together. “That’s what healthy community looks like to me!” says Jason.
In their more than ten years of working with Seward Co-op, the Thimmesch family has come to love having direct conversations with buyers as well as other co-op staff and community. It’s a great benefit for farms to be able to call buyers directly to give feedback and talk about the product.
