Shepherd’s Way Farms is a small-scale, family sheep dairy located about one hour south of Minneapolis in Nerstrand, Minn. Steven, the shepherd, and Jodi, the cheesemaker, live and work on their 40-acre farm. Their four adult sons play various full- and part-time roles, from cheese ambassadors, farmers market vendors, occasional cheese-making assistants to milking, shepherds and all around farm support. Established in 1994 as a sheep dairy, Shepherd’s Way began making one cheese, Friesago, in 1998 and now make more than eight varieties.
When you join Shepherd’s Way cheese CSA, you become part of the Shepherd’s Way Farm family, enjoying award winning artisan cheese while supporting diversity, sustainability, and small scale farming innovation. Supporting Shepherd’s Way through their CSA help care for the flock, support regenerational agriculture farming, and sustain handcrafted, on-farm artisan cheese production.
