Jajja Wellness was founded in 2016 by Henry Kisitu. Originally from Uganda, Africa, Henry moved to the United States to pursue his education at the University of Minnesota. He brought with him the indigenous wisdom of his Ugandan grandmother, Margaret Luttaaya, an herbal medicine guru who worked as a nurse and knew the principles of Chinese medicine. Margaret was a health pioneer who sold nutritional juices made with fruits, herbs, and other superfoods that support health and wellness. Upon her passing in 2016, Henry devoted himself to continuing her legacy.
Henry’s tonics pay homage to his upbringing and family and pay respect to the intergenerational wisdom imparted by his Jajja—grandmother—honored in the company’s name Jajja Wellness continues to support people’s whole health just as Henry’s grandmother did in her time.
