Learn About Blakesville Creamery
Blakesville Creamery, which began producing cheeses in Port Washington, Wisc. in the summer of 2020, is a farmstead creamery, meaning that their cheeses are handmade on the same farm where their animals–goats–are raised and milked. Less than a decade prior, the farm that was to become Blakesville was home to cows, and the first six years of owner Lynde Uihlein’s work was dedicated to converting the farm to one that could support goats. Once the herd was built and the creamery established, Blakesville started making naturally ripened cheeses, which went on to win five medals last year at the American Cheese Society’s Judging and Competition. Their line of cheeses are creamy, complex in flavor, and make a delicious snack or accompaniment to a meal.
