Heated shelters are now outside the Franklin and Friendship stores, to shield co-op shoppers from the elements when a line is needed outside to maintain social distancing. We’ve been pleased what when a line is needed, it typically moves much faster than the CDC definition of ‘close contact’: being within six feet of another person for at least 15 minutes. The precautions required inside Seward Co-op stores also apply inside the shelters—face coverings must be worn, and a distance of six feet must be maintained between people. To promote the circulation of fresh air in the shelters, their doors will remain open during store hours.
On Thursday, Nov. 28, Seward Co-op will have shortened hours from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
