The salad and hot bars served in the Delis at our stores are a point of pride for us at Seward Co-op. We keep them brimming with delicious, culturally diverse food, made from scratch, with care by Seward staff. Many of our housemade recipes are also vegan or made without gluten. Making the food in-house creates meaningful jobs and contributes to our work to be an inclusive, socially responsible co-op.
Did you know that 95% of the ingredients we use on the salad and hot bar are organically sourced? We also include ingredients, like fresh meat and produce, for the salad and hot bar dishes from a rotating cast of Community Foods producers throughout the growing season. You may be delighted to learn that many of our dishes often include ingredients from the same producers you see on the shelves at our stores, like Kadejan, Peterson’s Craftsman Meats, Whole Grain Milling, and Wisconsin Growers Cooperative.
When you choose to dine at our salad and hot bars, we work together to support our Ends to sustain a healthy community with equitable economic relationships, positive environmental impacts, and inclusive, socially responsible practices. Much of this work would not be possible without the commitment among our staff to prioritize sourcing relationships with small-scale, local farms. We are so grateful to work in partnership and cooperation with these Community Foods producers. Their commitment in sustaining healthy relationships with the land translates to us at Seward Co-op sharing that goodness at our delis and in community.
