Learn about Sola’s Butters
Abisola J-Peterson began Sola’s Butters in 2016 to offer a natural remedy to soothe dry skin and eczema. Abisola had developed the product by looking back on her childhood in Nigeria, where her mother used indigenous ingredients like raw shea butter for skincare. After perfecting her formula, what was first developed as a personal solution became a business that focused on handcrafted, high quality, natural products for skin and hair. You can now find Sola’s Butters at Seward Co-op.
Support Local, Small-Scale, Sustainable Woman-Owned Businesses
Prioritizing values like strong relationships, community impact, and transparency in her business, Abisola has found alignment with cooperative values. “Instead of just being another product on the shelf, I feel like Sola’s Butters is part of a larger movement that prioritizes ethical sourcing, small-batch craftsmanship, and supporting local businesses,” she says. Working with co-ops means Abisola can connect directly with customers who care about ingredients and sourcing. Within is the model for a healthy community that fosters spaces where small businesses can thrive.
