With the warmer months of the year upon us, many people are headed outside for barbeques, parties, and other social gatherings, which may often feature alcoholic beverages. Looking for a way to enjoy some refreshing suds this summer without the risk of a hangover? For those of us who are looking for a non-alcoholic (NA) alternative to beer, Seward Co-op is now offering a variety of craft beverages that offer the look, feel, and flavor of beer—malty, foamy, crisp, clear—while still being non-alcoholic. Crack open a cold one with these NA options for your summer soiree.
NA Every Day
Not Beer, but Near
Visit the Franklin store to find a new collection of non-alcoholic brews from Bravus Brewing Co., which was founded in 2015 as the first NA brewery on the continent. From the packaging to the clarity, color, and foamy head of the beverages themselves, Bravus brews are a solid NA alternative to their alcoholic cousins, providing the visual experience of drinking a beer, along with the flavor and mouthfeel, while remaining non-alcoholic.
Peanut Butter Dark
This NA substitute for a dark ale has a nutty, roasty, chocolatey flavor. It’s lighter bodied than its alcoholic counterparts, cutting out the syrupy feel of dark beers. Sweet, but not overbearing, the Peanut Butter Dark has a great color and a solid, foamy head.
Golden Light
This bright, golden-colored NA brew has a beautiful clarity. It’s light, refreshing, and slightly sweet.
Raspberry Gose
A crowd favorite! The Raspberry Gose is fruity and delightful, with all the flavor of real raspberry. It’s mouthwatering, possesses a light salinity, and is tart, but not sour.
West Coast IPA
This NA bev smells like a piney IPA, with a juicy forward taste and a bitter, dry finish. This one is a very approachable NA option for people who don’t typically like IPAs.
Blood Orange IPA
This fruity NA brew has a light, citrusy flavor that tastes fresh and crisp, with just a hint of bitterness at the finish.
Coconut Porter
Our resident coconut lover really enjoyed this one! Creamy and fragrant, the Coconut Porter is thicker-bodied, but not too heavy, and bursts with toasted coconut flavor.
Surly Hoppy Pale
In addition to Bravus NA brews, you can also find locally made Surly Hoppy Pale, a NA craft beverage that cuts to an IPA lover’s craving for hops, while remaining non-alcoholic.
More than Water
Beer dupes not much of your thing, but enjoy the flavor of hops? Both stores carry a variety of NA hop waters that offer just a little something different than your typical sparkling water.
“Nah” Hop Water
This tangy, bubbly water has a tropical hoppy flavor, without the sweetness. A refreshing option to mix up your plain sparkling water routine.
Hop Wtr Flavored Hop Waters
Want to take your hop water up a notch? Try Hop Wtr flavors like lime and blood orange for a sweet spin on the beverage.
Hoplark Sparkling Hop Waters
Also known for their HopTea, Hoplark crafts NA hoppy sparkling waters with a variety of different hop strains to give unique depth and flavor to their different offerings. The Citra is a good option for someone looking for a classic, bitter IPA taste. The Sabro is a staff favorite, with a robust hoppy flavor and tropical notes. The Mosaic is a subtler choice, but very herbaceous and piney.
