Learn About Jinx Tea
Minneapolis-based Jinx Tea began as a beverage truck business and by 2019 had opened a permanent tea bar in Linden Hills. They combine cooperatively and family-grown Chinese teas imported through local vendor Verdant Tea with flavors from spices, herbs, flowers, and more. Jinx Tea co-founder Jennifer Wills was inspired to develop her culinary beverage creations by the flavor–and feeling–of drinking punch as a kid. Adding in the expertise of local Dunn Brothers Coffee co-founder Chris Eilers and his son Sam Eilers, Jinx Tea was born. They now sell a variety of specialty tea drinks at their brick and mortar location as well as wholesale to grocers like Seward Co-op.
Jinx tea goes above and beyond making delicious, inventive, high-quality tea beverages. They are also committed to supporting the farms that enrich the communities in which the tea is grown. Working with family-run farms as well as a farming cooperative, Jinx Tea sources from farms that have been chosen as much for their sustainability practices as their flavor. Seward Co-op was one of the first stores to carry Jinx Tea, and the cooperative nature of the Seward environment paired with co-ops’ willingness to support local business made it a great match for Jinx Tea. As they see it, supporting local entrepreneurship and encouraging economic development and access to opportunity helps foster a healthy community.
