Self-Serve Salad and Hot Bars are Back!

You may have heard that the self-serve salad and hot bars at Seward Co-op delis are back open and ready to nourish our community through food. We are so grateful to once again offer this option to feed our community delicious, healthy meals.

Welcome back! Here’s what you can enjoy today

Our deli staff prepares nutritious meals by hand, in-house every day. We strive to highlight culinary traditions and cuisines from around the world, featuring Indian cuisine on Mondays, Latin American food on Tuesdays, Asian cuisine on Wednesdays, American and Southern cooking on Thursdays, Ethiopian food on Fridays, and chef’s choice options on Saturdays. Each day of the week features breakfast options from 8-11 a.m. while supplies last, with a heavier emphasis on brunch throughout the day on weekends. We strive to be conscientious of the dietary restrictions of all community members, and offer vegan, vegetarian, and/or gluten-free selections.

Your Deli purchases support Community Foods producers

The co-op relies on small-scale, local producers for ingredients in our self-serve salad and hot bar recipes. 100% of the meat used in our hot bar dishes comes from Community Foods producers like Kadejan chicken, Peterson Craft Meats, and others. Additional ingredients for our deli recipes are sourced locally, too, including Hope Creamery butter, Larry Schultz eggs, Ames Honey, Valley View Dairy, and more. We are proud to say 95% of the ingredients in the deli are organic.

Help us maintain a safe self-serve hot and salad bar

Although we now know the COVID-19 virus is not spread through contact with surfaces, we need to work together as a community to keep the recently reopened hot and salad bars clean and safe from germs. Please keep the following in mind when visiting our salad and hot bars:

Masks are still strongly encouraged while shopping inside the co-op

Sanitize your hands to prevent the spread of germs

Refrain from sampling, eating, and/or drinking while in the store

Maintain a 6’ distance from others

Announce your intention to people nearby to avoid overcrowding
