My motivation to run for Seward Co-op’s Board of Directors is to make a difference in my community through service and compassion. I currently serve on 2 other boards and have served on other boards and committees in the past. I know how to deal with issues that arise. I am a problem solver and have great advice when it comes to creating and sustaining culture. Working collaboratively looks like my definition of health. To approach all things with a holistic POV and address concerns with an open heart and a listening ear. Working in collaboration is how all great things have come to be.

I would uplift the concerns and voices of those who don’t have a seat at the table or struggle using their voices. I am a voice for those looking to build bridges as well as the voiceless. I also have several ideas on how to achieve more equitable outcomes as well. There are a lot of needs in the area regarding food insecurity. On topic of food insecurity, I believe there could be more expansion on owner deals throughout the month. I see my time on the board helping engage current owners to shop more regularly as well as expand ownership over the next 10 years!

I would offer more ideas on how to sustain healthy community. Being on a board is a responsibility that I would take seriously and I’d make sure to be that bridge of community for the CEO and the people of the board.
