At this time the Café remains closed. We currently have no plans as to when we will reopen. Restaurants have been given the okay to reopen with limitations. There are still concerns regarding safety measures – limited capacity and social distancing – that the co-op would need to implement to ensure the safety of our staff and community that would have negative impacts on the financial sustainability of the Café. A recent report from the CDC also states: that close contact with persons with known COVID-19 or going to locations that offer on-site eating and drinking options were associated with COVID-19 positivity. Adults with positive SARS-CoV-2 test results were approximately twice as likely to have reported dining at a restaurant than were those with negative SARS-CoV-2 test results.
We will evaluate this decision later in the fall to determine when reopening will occur. Café staff will continue to be temporarily assigned jobs in the stores during this time.
