• Grants and Donations

    Simple yet powerful community giving

One way Seward Co-op lives its Ends Statement to “sustain a healthy community” is through robust community grant and donation programs. The SEED program allows customers to “round-up” their grocery bill for a monthly recipient non-profit. Seward Community Fund grants are awarded annually in the amount of $1,000 per recipient. We also offer gift cards to non-profits for use at silent auctions, fundraisers, or other one-time events. In addition to these donation programs, the co-op provides monetary sponsorships for local events and nonprofits. These sponsorships have supported a wide range of organizations and causes aligned with the values of the cooperative movement.

Community Donations

Seward Co-op gift cards enable dozens of community nonprofits to purchase food for fundraising or volunteer events for their organizations.

SEED Program

The SEED program is a simple yet powerful community giving opportunity that allows customers to “round-up” their grocery bill for recipient organizations that share our commitment to a healthy community. All funds donated at the register are given directly to the recipient organization at the end of each month, often totaling several thousand dollars per month. Seward Community Fund

Seward Community Co-op launched the Seward Community Fund (SCF) in 2005. SCF embodies our co-op’s commitment to grow not just as a business, but also as a community resource for organizations whose work aligns with our vision for a healthy community. SCF grants are awarded annually in the amount of $1,000 per recipient. Applications are reviewed by a grant committee comprised of co-op staff, and recipients are announced annually at the the Annual Owner Meeting.

People Powered Perks

One People Powered Perks Grant of $1,000 is awarded annually to a bike-related organization as part of our commitment to positive environmental impacts through promoting alternative transportation.
