Board of Directors April Meeting

April 28, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Meetings of Seward Co-op’s Board of Directors are open to any co-op owner. The next board meeting is Tuesday, April 28, at 6 p.m. An agenda is here. Co-op owners are welcome to observe; your advance RSVP is politely requested. Please email board@seward.coop in advance of the meeting to indicate your intention to attend.

The April 28 meeting will include a 20-minute Co-op Owners Comment Period. The board of directors planned this in response to community members’ requests to address the board. Individual time allotment is dependent on number of owners who wish to speak. To attend and/or to participate in the Co-op Owners Comment Period, please email board@seward.coop prior to April 28. This will allow us to provide you the virtual meeting link.

Seward Co-op’s Board of Directors is comprised of nine elected co-op owners who serve the co-op for three-year terms. The board typically meets 9-10 times a year on the last Tuesday of the month, at 6:15 p.m. The co-op’s board of directors appreciates hearing from you! They are available to answer questions and provide information about cooperative governance.

Backyard Mushrooms- Virtual Class!

April 18, 2020 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

UPDATE – Our Backyard Mushrooms class is going virtual! Jeremy will be sending attendees a link for a video chat via Zoom within a week prior to April 18th. We will also be sending information on log kit pick up. Pick up will be at the Franklin Ave store the week prior to the class.

Growing your own gourmet mushrooms can be easy and nearly maintenance free — perfect for backyards and community garden plots. Learn what mycelium is and how to start and care for garden mushrooms and large-diameter mushroom logs. You will also get a peek at how they grow mushrooms at Northwoods Mushrooms. Each participant will inoculate their own oyster mushroom log to take home that should fruit mushrooms in a matter of months.
