Information Session for Board Candidates

June 30 @ 5:15 pm - 6:00 pm

Seward Co-op’s Board of Directors invites potential candidates to learn about cooperative governance and the 2026 board election. Candidates must be current owners of Seward Co-op and be committed to the long-term sustainability of our co-op.

All candidates are required to attend an online information session + a board meeting to be eligible to run in the election. Upcoming meeting dates are June 30, and July 28. Learn more about becoming a board member here. 

At the Candidate Information Session beginning at 5:15 p.m., you’ll hear from current directors about how the board works, the expectations of candidates, and receive the paperwork you need to apply to run for the board. All interested candidates will need to submit a form and essay by July 31. Please email board@seward.coop to receive Zoom meeting information.

Meetings of Seward Co-op’s Board of Directors are open to any co-op owner. The next monthly board meeting is virtual and will be held Tuesday, June 30. To indicate your intention to attend, please email board@seward.coop prior to June 30. This will allow us to provide you the virtual meeting link. Captions are available upon request, and if you have a need for other accommodations, please include them in your email and we will do our best to meet them.

Seward Co-op’s Board of Directors is comprised of eight elected co-op owners who serve the co-op for three-year terms. The board typically meets 9-10 times a year on the last Tuesday of the month, at 6:15 p.m. The co-op’s board of directors appreciates hearing from you! They are available to answer questions and provide information about cooperative governance.

Meet this month’s SEED Recipient- The Good Acre

Come meet this month’s SEED recipient. Learn about their work and ask questions, and say “yes!” to rounding up for them at the registers when you check out!

The Good Acre purchases food from local BIPOC farmers and sells it to wholesale customers who buy in quantities that are too big for a single farmer to fill. This work helps build wealth for those farmers and makes our food system more resilient.

SEED funds will support The Good Acre’s Pay What You Can Community Supported Agriculture program, increasing accessibility to fresh produce, mitigating food insecurity, and furthering the program’s financial sustainability.
