Cooking with Koshiki – Nabeyaki Udon (Virtual class)

Nabeyaki Udon is a Japanese noodle dish prepared in individual earthenware called Donabe or in a pot that is cooked directly on the stovetop. Besides the chewy, thick Udon noodles, the meal consists of dashi broth, chicken, tamagoyaki (egg omelet), fish cakes, shrimp tempura, mushrooms, and vegetables. Enjoy the piping hot and delicious noodles soup at the comfort of your home.

In this class, participants will learn to make:
•Japanese dashi broth
•Chicken teriyaki
•Tamagoyaki
•Shrimp tempura

Follow your food as it moves from your mouth to your bowel movements! You will learn about a variety of gastrointestinal concerns including ‘leaky gut’, SIBO, reflux, food intolerances, and more, taking home some important health hacks to relieve digestive symptoms.

Intro to Soap Making (Virtual class)

Learn soap making from one of Seward Co-op’s most popular soap vendors! In this virtual demonstration class, students will be shown soap making using the silicone mold method. Each student receives an instruction manual and a silicone mold prior to the class.

Class registration deadline for receiving a mold is Monday, October 5th at 8:00pm. Participants will need to pick up their molds from the Seward Co-op Friendship store between Wednesday, October 7th and Wednesday, October 14th at 6:00pm.

Cooking with Koshiki- Japanese Bento Box (Virtual class)

September 10, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Learn how to craft a beautifully presented bento box In this virtual class with Koshiki Smith from The Japanese Kitchen. This bento box will consist of a variety of delicacies:

• Miso Itame (summer vegetables and tofu sauteed in miso sauce)
• Chicken Karaage (soy, ginger and garlic marinated and fried chicken)
• Warm Green Bean and Tomato Salad
• Goma-Ae (spinach and sesame salad)
• Bittermelon with pickled plum and bonito
• Steamed white rice

Note: The menu is subject change due to the availability of seasonal vegetables.
