Angie Vasquez

Angie is a healthcare professional and Ph.D. candidate in Public Health Nutrition. She is passionate about the importance of ecologically sustainable food distribution systems and community health. She says this is a particularly exciting time to be involved with the co-op, given the exponential growth of the local food movement and the opportunity this growth represents.

Angie also has a multi-faceted business background that includes healthcare managerial roles in reporting and analytics, strategic planning, marketing and program development. She has completed a master of healthcare administration and a master of business administration degree from the Carlson School of Management and is currently finishing her Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota’s Department of Food Science and Agriculture. Her Ph.D. research includes topics that are particularly relevant to the work of the board, such as co-ops, CSAs, farmers’ markets, community gardens, food policy, food deserts and dietary improvement strategies.
